I am in the process of having this shipped to me. I am trying to figure out if it was a calvary carbine maybe and someone shortened the stock ? It is a small ring 7x57 cal

Has real scope mount and bent bolt handle, better than usual.
Might have been a carbine before it was chopped. Doubt anybody will care at this late date.
Stock has been reworks to straight configuration
Barrels on most of these will be in the 15 1/2 inch range.

Rear sight is correct for the Carbine.

I agree with the correct open sights, and a short barrel..As Hawk said, shooter only..And FYI, that's a Large Ring action..
Thanks

I had a Dutch Police carbine years ago. It had a 18" barrel. Had a horrendous muzzle blast, even when wearing earmuffs. Couldn't get rid of it, quick enough. I couldn't imagine how bad the muzzle blast and fireball, from a 15 1/2" barrel would be.
HUH??
"I'm betting it has a large chamber for use with current 7x57 brass."
HUH??
Not sure
